Ratimor Paste Bait

Guidelines and Directions for Use

Before using the product, read the product description and all accompanying information provided with the product or at the point of sale and follow it. Before placing the bait, inspect and assess the infested area to identify rodent species, their activity range, possible causes and the extent of infestation.

Remove easily accessible food sources for rodents (e.g., spilled grain, food leftovers). Do not clean the infested area before starting control, as this may disturb the rodent population and make bait uptake more difficult.

The product should be used as part of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system, including hygiene measures and, where possible, physical control methods. Place the product close to areas where rodent activity has previously been detected (runways, nests, feeding sites, holes, burrows, etc.).

Where possible, bait stations should be fixed to the ground or other structures. Bait stations must be clearly marked to show they contain rodenticides and must not be moved or opened. When used in public areas, the treated area should be marked, and a warning should be placed near bait stations explaining the primary and secondary risks of anticoagulant poisoning and the first actions to take in case of poisoning.

The bait must be secured so that animals cannot drag it away from the station. Place the product in areas not accessible to children, birds, pets, farm animals and other non-target animals. Keep away from food, drinks, animal feed and household items/surfaces that may come into contact with them.

When using the product, wear chemical-resistant protective gloves (EN 374). Do not eat, drink or smoke during use. After use, wash hands and any skin that came into contact with the product.

The frequency of visits/inspections of the treated area is decided by the user based on the initial survey and the relevant code of good practice. If bait uptake is low relative to the infested area size, consider placing additional bait points and/or changing bait type. If, after a 35-day treatment period, rodents continue to consume bait but activity does not decrease, identify the cause; resistance may be suspected. Consider a non-anticoagulant rodenticide or a stronger anticoagulant rodenticide, and also traps as an additional measure.

Bait in sachets: do not open bait sachets that are not intended to be emptied.
Paste: place paste bait using a sufficiently long spatula so hands do not come into contact with the product (do not take paste from the bucket by hand). Clean equipment (e.g., spatula) with a paper towel or a damp cloth.

If possible, inform nearby persons before treatment begins. Do not use in areas where resistance to the active substance is suspected. Do not use the product for longer than 35 days without assessing infestation status and effectiveness (unless a justified permanent baiting strategy is applied). To prevent resistance, do not rotate anticoagulants with similar or weaker efficacy; when switching, choose a non-anticoagulant or a stronger anticoagulant where possible.

Do not wash bait stations/accessories with water between uses. Dispose of dead rodents in accordance with local requirements.

Application Rate

Indoors (House mouse / Brown rat)

Mice: bait points 10–40 g. Place every 5 m; reduce to 2 m in heavy infestation.
Rats: bait points 20–200 g. Place every 10 m; reduce to 5 m in heavy infestation.

Method: ready-to-use bait in tamper-resistant bait stations; covered and protected bait points.
After completing the treatment, collect any unused product. If permanent baiting is used, it is recommended to check the area at least once every 4 weeks.

When placing bait stations near drainage systems, ensure the bait cannot come into contact with water.

Outdoors around buildings (House mouse / Brown rat)

Mice: 10–40 g; 5 m (2 m in heavy infestation).
Rats: 20–200 g; 10 m (5 m in heavy infestation).

Protect bait from precipitation. Place stations in areas that cannot flood. Replace bait if damaged by water or if it becomes dirty. For outdoor use, bait points must be covered and strategically placed to reduce exposure to non-target species. When placing near water bodies or drainage systems, ensure bait cannot contact water.

Open outdoor areas and outdoor waste dumps (Brown rat)

Rats: 20–200 g; 10 m (5 m in heavy infestation).
Covered and protected bait points only. Protect from precipitation and flooding. Replace wet/dirty bait.

Sewer systems (Brown rat)

Rats: 10–200 g per manhole; 200 g/manhole in heavy infestation.
Bait must be fixed in the station or positioned so that it does not contact wastewater and cannot be washed away. Use only in sewer systems connected to wastewater treatment plants.
