RODENTOX Rodenticide Grain Bait

Rat Poison – Grain Bait

Ready-to-use rodenticide for the control of brown rats indoors and outdoors around buildings.
For non-professional use.

Area of Use

For the control of brown rats (Rattus norvegicus):

  • Indoors

  • Outdoors around buildings

Directions for Use

Before Using the Rodenticide

  • Place the product in areas where rat activity has been observed (burrows, droppings, gnawing damage, tracks).

  • Assess the level of infestation and select appropriate control measures.

  • Consider alternative control methods (e.g., traps).

  • Use rodenticide only when justified.

  • Do not use for preventive purposes or for monitoring activity.

  • Before treatment:

    • Seal holes and burrows.

    • Remove accessible food sources (food waste, spilled grain, etc.).

    • Eliminate accessible water sources.

  • Do not thoroughly clean the infestation area before placing bait, as this may disturb rodent feeding behaviour.

Preparation Before Baiting

  • Place bait sachets inside a lockable, tamper-resistant bait station.
    (Bait station not included.)

  • Recommended: Multibaiter® or equivalent bait station.

  • One bait station may contain only the maximum bait amount according to dosage instructions.

  • Secure the filter paper sachets inside the bait station using rods or nails if possible.

  • Keep the product packaging until treatment is completed.

The bait station must be clearly labelled:

PROTECT rodenticide bait
Active substance: 0.0027% bromadiolone

Application

  • Place bait stations in areas frequented by rats: along walls, near pathways and harbourage areas.

  • Ensure bait stations are inaccessible to children, pets, farm animals and wildlife.

  • Secure bait stations where possible.

  • Protect from rain and adverse weather conditions.

  • Use rodenticide only inside closed bait stations.

Dosage and Treatment Steps

Application rate: 100–150 g (2–3 sachets) per bait station.

If multiple bait stations are required:

  • Minimum distance between stations:

    • 7 m (high infestation)

    • 10 m (low infestation)

Inspection Frequency

  • At the beginning of treatment: every 5–7 days

  • Thereafter: at least once per week

Replace consumed bait.
Remove and replace contaminated or damaged bait and packaging.

If bait is continuously consumed, increase the number of bait points.
If bait remains untouched but rats are still present, relocate the bait station.

Due to the delayed anticoagulant effect, rodent death is expected within 3–5 days after ingestion.
Infestation is usually eliminated within 2–6 weeks.
If no significant improvement after 35 days, contact a pest control professional.

Safety Measures

  • Use only for rodent control and according to instructions.

  • Do not use to kill non-target animals.

  • Toxic to mammals and birds. Secondary poisoning of predators (dogs, cats, pigs, etc.) may occur.

  • Do not eat, drink or smoke during use.

  • Wash hands with warm water and soap after handling.

  • Do not use contaminated or damaged bait.

  • Keep away from food, drinks, animal feed and related surfaces.

  • Prevent contamination of natural waters.

  • Dangerous to wildlife.
